Testimonials and Jan’s Teaching Philosophy

What do Jan's students have to say?

Jan Brintnall took on this 65-year-old golf neophyte and had me playing golf well enough for active fun on the course within a handful of lessons. Her full “swing progression course” taught me mechanics and protocols as well as how to enjoy playing the game. Jan is clear, concise, uplifting and above all — FUN! I recommend Jan to anyone who loves golf (or wants to love it.)

I learned so much! I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t know what to “work on” or how it would go after, but I went to the range today and would remember things you told me as I was hitting. From a beginner’s perspective, I think the class was great and gave me the confidence to know what to work on, what to do when I got to a golf course, what to do when on the course and also just the information you provided on which clubs to use and their purpose.

We had a wonderful time at the Boot Camp and are sitting here drinking margaritas and literally taking notes to try to remember everything before we forget. Just a fantastic day. Thanks so much!!!

I have taken many lessons through the years but Jan was the first instructor who helped me understand what my swing was supposed to feel like. I am finally making solid contact with the ball!

I had my first lesson yesterday. I was AMAZED at the simple changes she recommended and the difference it made! It was so fun! She has such a quiet, confident, supportive way of explaining and showing what she means. Really made sense to me and put me at ease!

Jan's approach is professional, yet fun. Though she is a remarkably skilled golfer, we never felt intimidated: she approached every lesson at our level. She was very thorough in answering our questions and making recommendations. Jan was wonderful at giving positive feedback, just when it was needed the most! We would not hesitate recommending her to others interested in golf lessons.

I have been playing golf for over 20 years. Jan is able to teach any level- beginner, intermediate or advanced. She worked with me and my swing and helped simplify the game. Heaven knows anybody that can help simplify this game (that I love and am addicted to) is a great instructor.

Jan is a true professional both in experience and attitude. To her, golf is something challenging but also something enjoyable. I wish for those who want to improve their skill, and enjoy the game, to have the success I have enjoyed through my lessons with Jan.

Jan has a perfect balance of instruction, diagnostics and humor in her lessons to make anyone feel comfortable. I feel confident playing the game.

I was ready to give up the game until Jan's patience and professional skills proved to me that I CAN hit the ball, I CAN make it go straight and I CAN have fun pursuing this sport.

She was successful in making me control my swing speed....not an easy task! With Jan's lessons, thousands of practice balls and 74 rounds of golf, I went from a 115 handicap to a 23 handicap. This year I will be 60 years young and we will work to further refine by game. Jan is a true professional, an excellent instructor and above all, a very nice person.

Jan's Teaching Philosophy

  • It is critical to master the fundamentals of grip, aim, stance and posture.  Once you thoroughly understand these fundamentals, you have the tools to reach your potential.
  • You are more than a student, you are an individual who possesses unique skills and life experiences that help you assimilate information differently than any one else.  You should be taught according to your learning style, abilities and goals.
  • Your equipment must match your and your game—not the other way around.  I will examine your equipment to see if it is helping, or hindering your game.
  • Golf is an imperfect game, so practice CAN’T “make perfect” but practice CAN and WILL help you advance your skill level, if you know HOW and WHAT to practice.  I will develop a practice plan tailored to you and your goals.
